Ironically though the 3xx was nothing but a rebadge and the 4xx followed suit ultimately its all the same card just a different year. This has been pretty consistent in games in general though of late, honestly our cards are old now and there is definitely room to argue that it likely wont be hot on the test list given the 3xx and 4xx series since BUT! it does highlight just how little testing happens outside of the box. It even beat the Toxxic on temps so three is no room for hardware error on this one especially when it is the case TWW2 is the only game and its one specific area of it.

I am also running an R9 and the part that raises alarm bells is mine is Sapphire Vapor X which is the absolute best cooling you could get at the time for the R9 series. If you guys could add your voice to this thread, it may help speed along a solution, or at least get us on the right track. I've made a thread on the total war forums ( ) that WAS working on the assumption that this is limited to AMD cards. My card hits 95c on the campaign map after about 10minutes just idling at the same location you load in to. Using the lowest settings in-game possible (everything off, frame cap in place at 60). Running a R9 290X, listed as "reccomended" on the store page. Originally posted by Nicoca:Just wanted to chime in on this discussion with my experience. I honestly hold little hope this will get solved unless one of the subreddits gets alot of attention and I do not use those kinds of forums so if one of you wants to make a move there I'd be grateful and dare say you would probably make a bigger difference. It took ALOT of nagging on the forums and it was fixed but the devs were active there. CMS18 very recently released with alot of issues and this was one of them.

Getting stuff like this fixed is difficult. The only factor here is the GPU which is AMD so if you have Nvidia or newer GPU's and have also noticed the issue PLEASE make a post just to say so. I believe this to be an issue with some form of graphical asset on the campaign map and you can stop your frustrations there because if that is the case then no amount of settings or changes on our end will fix it since it is likely something that has gone overlooked. Going to try DX12 see if it helps but the problem there is that in TWW1 atleast it drastically increased load times.ĮDIT: So people need not read the whole thread. Seeing alot of reference to it and for those suffering this we are not alone. Just wanted to create a post that is absolute on the issue.
