Problem is bandits usually run away, trying to escape from lords, so they end up moving further and further away. There are rare times I can't find them, so if I look for a whole day and I do not see them, I move to the next town for another quest. If it is just me and my companions, I usually find them easily. I run around the place I got the quest from, asking villagers, caravans and lords if they have seen the bandits, later running where they said they last seen them around. I personally do not have any problem with these anymore, but I only take them while I am still a small group of just me and my companions, which means I run around the map really really fast. High Pathfinding and having some horses in your inventory, cause running fast is needed due to these groups sometimes being too small and running around fast, so to catch up, you need to be much faster. High Party Spotting skill, so you can see in a wide area around you and not miss them. The things that help these annoying quests are the following:
